'THE VOW' LYRICS

Everything seems still
although the wind is a drill
I’ve got this sound in my head
a continuous light
like the one of the sunset
a time lapse of the sunrise
fire coming down
fire coming down

 Voices from the ground
You know what it’s all about
I feel like it’s all around
You see the eyes of the crowd
The voices will never shout
The voices will never drown
I feel like it’s all around
And now they’ve made a vow

 The loud crushed voices
made up and amplified
the waves on the stairs
the cards of the game
when I think of that day
light heart and cold sun
just what I see right now
just what surrounds me now

It’s like it got us all
And it’s part of everyone
It’s like a waterfall
And it’s wind on the run

 Voices from the ground
You know what it’s all about
I feel like it’s all around
You see the eyes of the crowd
The voices will never shout
The voices will never drown
I feel like it’s all around
And now they’ve made a vow
Voices from the ground
The voices will never drown
I feel like it’s all around
And now they’ve made a vow

BEHIND THE SONG

I slowly came to the realisation that perception is all we have, that the things we see, hear, feel in our head represent our very own interpretation of reality. The way you feel about things depends on your state of mind, on your past experiences and your expectations. Sometimes we get to observe these from above, in rare moments of clarity... This song is my way of portraying all these feelings and ideas. When in the song I say "the cards of the game" I refer to the fact that every single things that happens around you can be filled with different meanings, that can sometimes be haunting. Simply observing someone playing a game of cards can remind us of how life itself can be seen a game.
